Matt Earith with Micky
Firstly Welcome to my website, feel free to have a good look around and please do let me know what you think! You can find information on me, my yard and horses and what we have to offer on this site, but to be the first to hear all the latest news and goings on from the team at Kearsley Sport Horses - please join our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to keep up to date with all the action! Matt originally born and bred in Derbyshire is now based in Matfen near Hexham, Northumberland. Matt comes from a horsey background with both his mum and uncle having showjumped at top level. He first sat on a horse aged 2 and has never looked back, going through Pony club and spent his early years showing ponies and then onto horses. He then became interested in jumping and has since done a lot of high level dressage and showjumping, but has been bitten by the eventing bug and has decided that that is what he wants to do and with his natural talent and dedication is sure to go all the way! Matt attended Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School and gained 10 GCSE's before starting his equine career. After leaving school Matt went to work for international event rider Maddy Moffett and gained NVQ's in horsecare and did his foundation and advanced apprenticeship through Stubbing Court Training Ltd while based there. After completing his apprenticeship Matt was awarded a City and Guilds Medal for excellence for his exceptional high standard of skill and dedication to his work. Matt was also named Derbyshire Apprentice of the year 2006, an outstanding achievement for Matt as well as the equine industry. Having worked on a variety of top class yards up and down the country including Matthew Wright ( international event rider ) and Andrew Saywell ( international showjumper ) yards, Matt at the age of just 21 set up on his own in Northumberland in August 2008 his yard boasts the very best of facilities and offers an exceptional proffesional service for each individual client. Matt also teaches all levels and abilities of horse and rider from his yard, and is always on the look out for new owners and talented horses. Matt takes horses and ponies to break, school and sell - please see relevant pages for more details. Matt trains weekly with Phillipa McKeever and Vikki Wilson. He also receives regular tuition from Ian Stark and Kenneth Clawson for jumping and Gwyneth Lewis for flatwork.
14th October 2011 - Thats the event season finished for us now! A lot to be happy with and also areas to work on and improve over the winter months. The horses will have a well earned rest for a couple of months now, unfortunatley the rider will not have the chance to do the same! I really did want to try and squeeze a holiday in this month somewhere hot but we are just to busy for this to happen at the minute! We have a lot of youngsters in for breaking as well as the hunters and I am also currently training for my UKCC coaching certificate so its all go! Coille Mor Wilson is at the Pet Plan Dressage Festival next weekend then he will have a bit of a rest but not too much or he gets naughty! I'll be doing plenty of BD and BS over the next few months as well as lots of training to really push for even better results next season. We are again adding more facilities to the yard which will really benefit the horses as well as myself, I have some lovely new young horses to produce for next season and a couple of exciting prospects on the horizon... Before we know it it will be Christmas and after that its all go again! Hope everyone has had a good season and had fun with their horses, Im sure I will see a lot of you out and about over the winter, enjoy!
Also ... at some point the website will be getting updated with new pics etc. so keep checking!!
