Matt riding Jake
Matt lunging Buster
Matt is available to school your horse for short, medium and long term education. Matt has a special affinity with horses and most respond to him in a way that means you get the most from your horse. From breaking young horses to schooling or re-training older horses. He can help you and your horse compete to higher standards or will be pleased to compete your horse for you.
The experience Matt has gained from working with top international riders means
your horse will be educated to a very high standard:
‘I hope to use the expertise and what I have learned working for top event riders
to help people train their own horses – so they can get a lot more enjoyment from them.’
Matt is able and willing to receive all types of horses and ponies for breaking and schooling.
He has strict policies during the breaking and schooling process, the attitude he adopts during this procedure is to proceed slowly and take great care at each stage of the horses development. This process has no time limit or deadline, his thorough and patient approach will ensure all the required results are worked towards in a safe and efficient manner.
In summary a “quick job” will not be undertaken!
Matt's schooling takes place both from the ground and under the saddle. Horses that arrive for schooling will be lunged, long reined and ridden in order to develop balance, increase muscle tone and stamina, and learn to accept both the riders hand and leg contacts.
Matt then proceeds to complete the process of his work by closely working with horse and owner, building the trust and relationship between both before sending you and your horse home.
Matt specialises in schooling for particular disciplines or to overcome horse or rider problems, both activities are undertaken during private instruction sessions.
